I’m getting close to finishing my latest book - SURVIVING THE WRITER’S LIFE… true stories of life, love, loss and a smattering of applause.

I’ve been working on this puppy for a couple years now, although the research took me seventy years. It’s a glimpse into the whack doodle road I followed to become a writer, including my brief stop as a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, and all the bumps and bruises that followed. These are stories about marriage, parenting, rejection, and occasional success. It’s about my journey as a writer, but it could easily be about a plumber, or a nurse, or a professional juggler. It’s about wading through the bullshit we all encounter.

As with any author, I have no idea whether it’ll soar to the top of the bestseller list or be dubbed a giant piece of shit. As I near the finish line, here’s my biggest concern: I’m 83 fucking years old. I could croak tomorrow just walking out to water my garden or driving to Seattle to go to a Mariners’ game with my grandson.

Today, however, I’ll be working on Chapter 73: The Greatest Deal in Publishing History.
